What is covered? Fungal decay and termite attack only.
What is not covered? Physical degrade (cracking, warping, splitting), product fading/aging, mold growth on surface of wood (power wash prior to inspection), corrosion of fasteners and hardware, labor to remove or replace damaged material, disposal of damaged material or delivery of replacement material.
Manufacturer's Warranty Obligation: If the treated material has failed due to fungal decay or termite attach, the manufacturer's obligation is to replace the damaged material or the monetary equivalent up to the original purchase price.
The following is required before a claim will be reviewed by Koppers:
Pictures of a sufficient number of end-tags (which were attached to the wood when it was purchased). If you purchased wood for use both above ground (e.g., decking) and ground contact (e.g., timbers), you must provide end tags for each type of use. Your original purchase invoice showing the list of materials purchased. Please advise if all of the materials have been affected. Photographs of your project and the damaged materials. Please make sure these are not just close up shots of the material. We need to be able to view the complete structure as well as areas of ventilation. An accurate tally of the materials in question recorded by the homeowner or contractor. Vague answers will not be accepted and your claim will be put ON HOLD until the information is provided. The warranty provided by Koppers does not cover labor. If you are unable to get the tally you will be required to hire or locate a professional.
